Heaptalk, Jakarta — Kalbe Nutritionals, part of Kalbe Group, hosted a talk show through Morinaga to discuss how parents can balance screen time and social activities for children; took place at Mall Kota Kasablankan in South Jakarta (02/01). The event, ‘Fun Tips for Managing Screen Time for Children, ’ featured public figure and health observer Reisa Broto Asmoro.
During the talk show, Morinaga introduced the Artificial Intelligence Multiple Intelligence Play Plan (AI MIPP), an artificial intelligence-based technology designed to help parents identify their children’s potential while making screen time more productive and educational.
Gregorius Daru, Group Business Unit Head of Morinaga GUM, shared that in line with recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO), Morinaga is committed to helping parents better manage their children’s screen time. WHO advises that children under 1 year should not be exposed to screen time.
The recommended maximum screen time for children aged 1-2 is one hour per day, with less being even better. Meanwhile, children aged 3-4 are also advised to have a maximum of one hour of screen time but with more interactive activities like reading, storytelling, or playing with parents.
Through Morinaga’s AI MIPP, Gregorius is confident that children’s screen time can be utilized more productively. AI MIPP encourages children to engage in interactive play activities and answer 27 specially designed questions. The data collected is then analyzed using artificial intelligence to identify their dominant intelligence and potential future professions. “This analytical report helps parents understand their child’s talents more clearly, allowing them to create a more directed and effective development plan,” said Gregorius Daru.
Meanwhile, Reisa Broto Asmoro emphasized the importance of proper screen time management. Screen time should not be avoided entirely, but it needs to be managed wisely to benefit children’s development. “Parents can set clear rules, choose appropriate content, and encourage a balance with other activities like playing and being creative. That way, screen time can become a fun learning tool that supports children’s growth,” Reisa concluded.
