Heaptalk, Jakarta — To simplify investments in government securities (Surat Berharga Negara or SBN), Maybank Indonesia launched a new feature on its digital application, M2U ID, on Thursday (12/05). With this feature, investing in SBN on the Secondary Market is now accessible to a broader audience, including retail investors seeking flexibility and optimal returns.

This initiative aligns with Maybank Group’s M25+ strategy, which focuses on accelerating digitalization and modernizing technology, and the bank’s Humanizing Financial Services mission. Investing in SBN through the M2U ID App offers various benefits, including convenient monitoring and trading at your fingertips, affordable entry with investments starting from Rp1 million, competitive, real-time pricing, yield-to-maturity estimation tools, and no transaction or custodian fees.

Charles Budiman, Head of Digital Banking at Maybank Indonesia, emphasized the bank’s commitment to leveraging digitalization to provide a more accessible, efficient, and inclusive investment experience for all customers. “Through the M2U ID App, we offer direct access to the SBN Secondary Market, enabling customers, including retail investors, to manage their investments transparently and conveniently from the palm of their hand,” Charles stated during a media discussion on Thursday (12/05).

Charles also highlighted that the M2U ID App is continuously enhanced to deliver a safer, more user-friendly transaction experience. He noted that SBN investments in the Secondary Market can serve as a source of passive income due to fixed returns paid periodically directly into investors’ accounts.

Furthermore, government securities provide a high level of protection as guaranteed by the state, ensuring the government backs both principal repayment and returns. This new feature reflects Maybank Indonesia’s ongoing efforts to empower its customers with innovative digital services, offering a seamless and secure way to achieve their investment goals.
