Heaptalk, Jakarta — Lion Group announced its strategic partnership with Jeju Air through a codeshare agreement to facilitate international travel for tourists in a multicity concept (06/04). This partnership offers flight services from Batam (BTH) and Bali (DPS), Indonesia, to Incheon, South Korea, and vice versa.
Upon arrival in Incheon, Jeju Air opens up a world of adventure with easy connections to 36 international routes, including 8 routes to Japan and 11 routes to China. This expanded service not only adds value for travelers but also ignites a sense of exploration, enabling them to discover more destinations with flexibility and convenience.
This collaboration also aims to support the government’s program to attract foreign tourists to Indonesia. With more integrated flight services, travelers from South Korea and other countries can easily visit cities in Indonesia via Batam (BTH) and Bali (DPS). This is expected to increase the number of foreign tourist visits and contribute positively to Indonesian tourism.
Lion Group President Director, Capt. Daniel Putut Kuncoro Adi and Jeju Air President Director Kim E-Bae signed the codeshare agreement in Jakarta (06/04). According to Capt. Daniel, this collaboration is an essential step for Lion Group in providing convenience for Indonesian travelers to explore more international destinations. He emphasized that comfort and flexibility are crucial for travelers.
Collaborating with Bandara Internasional Batam
The multicity concept allows Lion Group to offer a broader and more efficient range of routes. “We are also proud to support the government’s program to attract foreign tourists to Indonesia. With more flight options available, we hope more travelers from various countries will be interested in visiting the beauty and cultural diversity offered by cities in Indonesia,” explained Capt. Daniel.
Kim E-Bae stated, “The Lion Group and Jeju Air codeshare service is excited to introduce more foreign tourists to Indonesia. We believe this partnership will not only strengthen bilateral relations between South Korea and Indonesia but also open new opportunities for tourism development in both countries. We look forward to the positive impact of this collaboration on travelers and the tourism industry.”
On this occasion, Pikri Ilham Kurniansyah, President Director of PT Bandara Internasional Batam (BIB), stated that this cooperation is implementing a strategic collaboration between airports and national and foreign airlines. PT BIB has transformed from a single entity into part of a larger ecosystem as an orchestrator in realizing international flight routes. Batam is a vital part of Indonesia’s strategy to renew air traffic rights, making the Batam-Incheon route possible by leveraging Lion Group’s strength in the domestic market. The Incheon-Batam flight will connect with Lion Group’s domestic flights through Batam.
“Additionally, the codeshare cooperation on the Incheon-Bali route and vice versa using Lion Group’s fleet reaffirms Lion Group’s position as a connector between international and domestic markets. We are proud to be part of this history, and as airport operators, we are ready to welcome our guests from Korea with the best service,” concluded Pikri.
