Lamudi issued Property Highlights 2022 with the aim to measure the level of agent readiness in responding to new demands from next-generation property buyers.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — Lamudi Property Highlights (LPH) 2022 revealed that agents play an important role in driving the growth of the national property sector through digitalization. This finding is the result of an annual report issued by Lamudi to review the latest national issues that are closely related to the growth prospects of the national property sector.
This year’s report with the theme “Responding to consumer needs by increasing agent competence” aims to measure the level of agent competency readiness in responding to new demands from next-generation property buyers.
To measure the level of agent readiness, Lamudi conducted a survey to determine the level of agent confidence in applying basic agent skills and the most important digital competencies for agents to adapt to Indonesia’s digital economy era.
In more detail, LPH 2022 found several key points, one of which is that the high level of agent awareness of the importance of digital literacy had not been matched by adequate training. Agents also received several major complaints from prospective property buyers. Apart from that, agents also questioned whom the main stakeholders deemed necessary to take the initiative in conducting training for agents.
Lamudi CEO Mart Polman said that the digital economy era had penetrated the property sector. Responding to this, agents as property sector human resources must be more effective in providing a good buyer experience to next-generation property buyers through trusted consulting services.
“Here, agents play an important role as the vanguard of technology adoption in the property sector as of their essential function as a liaison between developers and banks to potential buyers. This requires agents to have a minimum level of digital literacy, which includes conducting research, using technology to answer consumer needs, and utilizing technology as a tool to support their own careers,” said Mart.
The importance of providing agents with adequate training
The valuable points of digital literacy for these agents are also aligned with the main digital literacy framework set by The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) which was issued in 2018. The UNESCO framework is used as a reference for the level of basic human resource competencies needed to be competitive in this digital economy era.
Mart conveyed that all the research findings from LPH 2022 point to the concern of facilitating agents with adequate training, making them adapt to new conditions in the property sector.
“Providing adequate training for agents must be a priority agenda for all national property sector stakeholders. This is because the success rate of agent sales will have a major contribution to the sustainable growth of the national property sector in these challenging economic conditions,” added Mart.
Based on Bank Indonesia’s report, the growth of the property sector has a sizeable contribution to the growth of the Indonesian economic sector, amounting to Rp324 trillion or worth US$21.5 billion (US$1 equals Rp15,061) in 2020. This contribution is also related to the property sector and 174 other economic sectors along with 350 small industries.
Previously, Lamudi introduced an agent empowerment community, namely Lamudi Partners, which is supported by the Indonesian Real Estate Brokers Association (AREBI). “The publication of LPH 2022 and the introduction of Lamudi Partners are part of our big vision to provide long-term solutions for the national property sector by empowering agents as one of the important pillars of our business. As the center of the national digital property ecosystem, Lamudi.co.id wants to continue to be a cog in the digitization of the national property sector to continue to support Indonesia’s economic growth,” concluded Mart.
