Commemorating its 7th anniversary, Jenius conducted a study entitled Jenius Study: Digital Savvy Financial Habits 2023 in August involving 156 respondents aged 17-41 years.

Heaptalk, Jakarta — A digital banking application from BTPN, Jenius, revealed the results of its latest survey that 96% of its customers have developed the habit of saving regularly, a 70% increase compared to the survey in 2022. Approximately 73% of these customers allocate more savings than recommended by financial planners, ranging from 10-20% of income.

Most Jenius customers (83%) have also recognized the importance of recording cash flow, an increase of 73% compared to the previous year. One way that helps them manage cash flow is by making installments (93%). By 2023, 55% of customers utilized the Flexi Cash feature to manage cash flow, including for business capital, home renovations, and buying dream goods.

The survey entitled Jenius Study: Digital Savvy Financial Habits 2023 was conducted in August 2023 involving 156 respondents aged 17-41 years. The publication of this survey mark Jenius’ seven-year journey since it was launched by BTPN on August 11, 2016.

Besides Flexi Cash, there are several features that can be used to manage cash flow, namely Moneytory, Paylater, Jenius Visa Credit Card, Split Pay, and Jenius Pay Installments. Other features such as the Jenius Visa Debit Card (mCard) data are used for transactions while traveling to 188 countries on several continents, including Asia, Australia, Europe, Africa, North America, and South America.

“Jenius’ goal is to provide a life finance solution. We want our customers to be able to manage finances better. In saving, the top 3 features they use are Flexi Saver, Dream Saver, and Maxi Saver. Currently, these three products are actively used by Jenius users,” explained Digital Banking Head of Bank BTPN Irwan Tisnabudi in Jakarta (08/23).

Registered users reached 4.8 million, growing 19% yoy

Coinciding with its seventh anniversary, this digital banking app seeks to provide relevant financial services for digital savvy society through various features, for example, saving money, making transactions at home and abroad, managing cash flow, and investing directly from the app.

Throughout the first half of 2023, Jenius has launched and developed several features, including easier access to QRIS scans from the app, top-up and self-manage e-money from the e-Wallet Center, exchange of Yay Points, the extension of operating hours for activation and foreign currency exchange, Paylater, and the second #FlexiRasaMaxi program.

From the business standpoint, Jenius showed a strong growth trend by recording a 19% year-on-year (yoy) increase in users to 4.8 million registered users. Third-party funds gained an increment of 43% yoy to Rp24.7 trillion, approximately US$1.6 billion (US$1 equals Rp15,323).
