Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) held an agenda for the election of chairman for the 2024-2029 period at the DKI Jakarta City Hall.
During the 2024-2029 election for chairman of PWI Jaya, Kesit Budi Handoyo was elected chairman after successfully obtaining 168 votes. Meanwhile, Muhammad Iqbal Rasyid received 128 votes. Furthermore, in the election for Chair of the DKP PWI Jaya for the 2024-2029 period, Yusuf MS was elected, obtaining 158 votes. Meanwhile, Berman Nainggolan received 141 votes.
The head of the Public Communications Division of the DKI Jakarta Communication, Informatics, and Statistics Service, Koharudin, congratulated Kesit on being elected chairman of PWI 2024-2029 and Yusuf on becoming chairman of DKP PWI Jaya 2024-2025. Apart from being a gathering place, Koharudin also said that the PWI Conference was a critical moment for the Indonesian journalism industry.
“This agenda is an important moment to formulate the future of journalism, especially in DKI Jakarta province, where this city will unleash its title as Capital City several months ahead and experience the Regional Head Election. We will commit to maintaining quality, independent, and responsible reporting to improve the press industry in Jakarta Greater Area.” Koharudin concluded.
