Heaptalk, Jakarta — GWM Indonesia announced its presence at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2024, held from July 18 to 28, 2024, at ICE BSD, Tangerang.

“GIIAS 2024 is a significant moment for all automotive brands in Indonesia, including GWM Indonesia, to get closer to the public more widely,” said GWM Indonesia General Manager Constantinus Herlijoso during the Road to GIIAS 2024 – GWM Indonesia Highlights event in Jakarta on Wednesday (07/10).

On this occasion, the EV manufacturer introduced Haval Jolion HEV at Chillax Sudirman. Herlijoso stated, “The GWM Haval Jolion HEV will be the latest SUV introduced by GWM to Indonesia, demonstrating GWM’s seriousness in supporting the transition to new energy in Indonesia.”

Khoo Shao Tze, President Director of Inchcape Automotive Indonesia, mentioned that the Haval Jolion HEV would be the first GWM product to be produced in Indonesia through a partnership facility with Inchcape in Desa Wanaherang, Kecamatan Gunungputri, Kabupaten Bogor, West Java.

GWM will reveal the HEV specifications at GIIAS 2024. The Haval Jolion is claimed to have significant torque, 375 Nm, and fuel consumption efficiency of up to 5 liters per 100 kilometers or 1 liter every 20 kilometers. This hybrid car from China includes several safety features, including ADAS, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, blind spot monitoring, tire pressure sensors, and a 360° monitoring camera.

Herlijoso further said that the company is preparing to start manufacturing activities in August 2024, including bringing supporting equipment that meets the company standards and preparing components, costs, and type testing. “We hope production can start in the second quarter of 2024 and immediately deliver to consumers. Hence, I don’t think unit deliveries will take until the end of the year,” he concluded.
