Heaptalk, Jakarta — The British car manufacturer Rolls Royce has officially released its initial electric car, the Rolls Royce Spectre, in Park Hyatt Hotel, Jakarta. (11/14)
During the launch agenda, the Regional Director Asia-Pacific of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Irene Nikkein, delivered, “We are delighted to celebrate the debut of Spectre in Indonesia, the most anticipated model in the history of our marque. Indonesia remains a crucial market for Rolls-Royce Cars in the Southeast Asia. This car has captured the imagination of numerous parties and initiated our brand’s electric future. This product is an electric car and a symbol of battery-based ultra-luxury vehicles with high sophistication,”
Furthermore, Irene revealed that this ultra-luxury car uses two electric motors to drive the front and rear wheels. These two motorbikes can produce 584 hp of power and 900 Nm of torque, distributed with a composition of 30% to the show and 70% to the rear wheels.
“In terms of performance, this car is equivalent to an internal combustion engine with power of 430 kW (585 PS) and peak torque of 900 Nm. Regarding acceleration, the Specter can sprint from 0-60 km/h in 4.4 seconds,” affirmed Irene.
Rolls-Royce Spectre Car utilizes the lithium-ion of 102 kWh. The battery cells are produced using 10% environmentally friendly electricity. This unit has been extensively tested in ambient temperatures of -40 °C to +50°C. With on-board thermal management technology, this vehicle can maintain optimal operating temperatures.
As additional information, The Spectre is the fourth in Rolls-Royce’s series built on the Tasa luxury platform and is proprietary to the manufacturer. It rests on a spaceframe chassis, which is made entirely of aluminum.
