Heaptalk, Jakarta — Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan officially released the export of margarine to Greece, produced by PT Domus Jaya in Katibung District, South Lampung Regency, on Thursday (09/05). PT Domus shipped three container trucks filled with margarine for a total load of 72 tons.
Zulkifli expressed pride that a company in South Lampung could export margarine. Exporting derivative products from crude palm oil (CPO) in Lampung boosts the local economy. “Today, we exported margarine, totaling 72 tons, in three containers, worth approximately Rp900 million,” Zulkifli stated.

Bambang Sutedjo, Operations Manager of PT Domus Jaya, said, “Today we export shortening margarine to Greece, commonly used by the fast-food industry as a frying medium. This product can fry food crispier without leaving excess oil.”
The 72 tons of shortening margarine, or three containers, have an export value of US$61,000, equivalent to Rp900 million. “Each container holds over 20 tons of shortening margarine. This export activity will continue, as today’s shipment fulfills a contract from July. For the September contract, another shipment will be made in two months,” Bambang added.
He also mentioned that the company exports via containers and provides bulk shipments via vessels, with a capacity of 5,000 tons. “There have been no major obstacles in carrying out these exports, especially logistics. However, sometimes it’s challenging to find containers due to their high cost. We hope this will not hinder the export of commodities or derivative products,” he concluded.
