Heaptalk, Jakarta — PT. Layur Astiti Bumi Kencana, the official importer of BMW Motorrad in Indonesia, has launched three new products simultaneously: the BMW R 12 nineT, BMW CE 02, and BMW F 900 GS.
“The launch of these three new products represents PT Layur Astiti Bumi Kencana’s commitment to introducing the latest designs, technology, and innovations from BMW Motorrad to motorcycle enthusiasts and users in Indonesia,” said Fransiska Ingrid, CEO of PT. Layur Astiti Bumi Kencana, at the 2024 BCA Expo, Friday (16/08).
According to Fransiska, each of these products serves a distinct market segment. “The BMW R 12 nineT is a classic motorcycle that blends retro style with modern technology, the BMW CE 02 is an electric motorcycle designed for practical and eco-friendly urban use, and the BMW F 900 GS is an adventure bike built for long-distance travel and both on-road and off-road usage,” added Josep Setiawan, Sales Director of PT Layur Astiti Bumi Kencana.
Putra, the Product Manager, explained the key features of each product. “The BMW R 12 nineT is an evolution of the BMW R nineT. It features a new, modern, ergonomic design with compact proportions. The BMW R 12 nineT comes equipped with a 3.5-inch digital micro TFT display and includes connectivity features to pair smartphones with the BMW Motorrad Connected app.”
For comfort, the R 12 nineT is fitted with Shift Assistant Pro, which allows for gear shifts without needing to pull the clutch lever, and Hill Start Control Pro, which prevents the bike from rolling backward when the rider releases the brake and switches to throttle on an incline. It also features Cruise Control, enabling the rider to maintain a constant speed without pulling the throttle lever.
Moving on to the BMW CE 02, an electric motorcycle, it boasts the latest charging and battery technology, offering enough power for urban commuting. Putra mentioned that the BMW CE 02 includes three riding modes, flow, surf, and flash, tailored to users’ needs. Additionally, it features reverse gear to assist riders with parking or when moving backward without using their feet. Another standout feature is Quick Charging, where charging from 20% to 80% takes only 1 hour and 40 minutes.
“With a full battery, the BMW CE 02 has a range of over 90 km,” said Putra. The estimated operating cost for the BMW CE 02 over 100 km is around ten thousand rupiah.
“Lastly, the BMW F 900 GS is an adventure bike with an 895 cc engine, producing 105 hp,” said Putra. The BMW F 900 GS has a newly designed frame and headlight with a wider beam angle, providing more direct light ahead and enhancing safety during nighttime rides.
“The BMW F 900 GS also comes with comfort features such as Shift Assistant Pro and Cruise Control, along with five riding modes: Rain, Road, Dynamic, Enduro, and Enduro Pro. These modes are tailored to different road conditions and riding styles,” Putra added.
In addition to the three new products, BMW Motorrad Indonesia is showcasing other flagship models, including the BMW G 310 GS, BMW R 1300 GS, BMW R 1250 GS Adventure, BMW R 18, and BMW CE 04. Test rides are available for the BMW G 310 GS, BMW R 1300 GS, BMW R 1250 GS Adventure, and BMW CE 04.
