Heaptalk, Jakarta – BMW Motorrad Indonesia, officially launched a new BMW motorcycle type, BMW R12, in Indonesia during the 2024 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) (02/20).

During the press conference at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, COO of BMW Motorrad Indonesia Davy Tuilan explained that this new innovation presents a fresh air to the automotive industry by combining classic design with advanced technology.

“BMW R12 features classic taste with the passion of advanced technology, this vehicle is the right option for progressive riders who want to look straightforward and simple,” stated Davy (02/20).

BMW R12 is priced at about USD49,500 or Rp 775.900.000 (USD1 equals Rp15,659) and is designed to be easily personalized by the riders’ profile. Moreover, the classic cruiser motorcycle also offers several advanced features, including:

Gear Shift Assistant

The air/oil-cooled boxer engine comes with the Gearshift Assistant Pro feature for the first time, which enables clutchless gear shifting. This feature allows for instant and smooth gear changes.

Hill Start Control

BMW R12 is equipped with Hill Start Control Pro with the latest technology that helps riders ride uphill and downhill. This feature will hold the vehicle in an uphill or downhill position by pulling the brake lever on your motorbike and holding it for about 5 seconds.

Connected by Ride Control

With this feature, BMW R12 can be connected via Bluetooth to the riders’ smartphone with BMW Motorrad Connected application. This application further becomes a ‘meter cluster’ which displays navigation maps, vehicle data, vehicle dynamics data, weather information, and other information.

Cruise Control

This premium feature allows riders to set the motorcycle’s pace at a certain speed constantly.

Antilock Brake System Pro (ABS Pro)

This safety technology is composed of:

  1. Cornering ABS
This technology can minimize changes in the tilt of the motorbike when the motorbike brakes are activated, thus both under and over-steering conditions can be avoided.
  2. Integral ABS part functions to activate the front and rear brakes simultaneously when the handbrake lever is used. This feature is even more perfect because it is combined with the ABS Pro component, which optimizes the angle and dynamic distribution of braking force to provide excellent braking according to the motorbike track conditions.
