Cainiao Cikarang Logistics Park consists of six warehouses with an area of 170,000 square meters which occupy a total area of 320,000 square meters.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — Cainiao, a logistic arm of Alibaba Group established its first warehouse project at GIIC Deltamas Cikarang, Bekasi Regency named Cainiao Cikarang Logistics Park. This launch is part of the regional Cainiao Hub (cHub) expansion plan.
According to the company statement, these warehouses are built adjacent to factories to support the local manufacturing industry, as cited from Technode Global. The Cainiao Cikarang Logistics Park aims to support manufacturers in leveraging full chain capabilities, particularly for their logistics and trading needs such as fulfillment and sorting for local shipments as well as imports and exports for business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) business.
Additionally, this cHub is expected to facilitate intelligent supply chain management, logistics technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), automation, and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
The project consists of six warehouses with an area of 170,000 square meters which occupy a total land area of 320,000 square meters. Cainiao claimed that its warehouse complex has reached a 75% occupancy rate ahead of the launch. The tenants include PT Senopati Fujitrans Logistics Services (Senfu), PT SGMW Indonesia (Wuling Indonesia), CJ Logistics, Klog, Haier, and Lazada.
The third warehouse in Southeast Asia
“We have witnessed immense potential in Southeast Asian region and have been actively investing to expand our warehouse network in order to cater to the needs of local businesses. We are thrilled to finally announce this new warehouse, our first infrastructure investment in Indonesia and third in the region,” stated Vice President of Cainiao Group Eric Xu, as quoted by Technode Global.
Previously the company established warehouse complexes in Thailand and Vietnam. The Cainiao Cikarang Logistics Park is the third warehouse in the network of cHubs in Southeast Asia. Founded in 2013, Cainiao provides smart logistics services that adopt a collaborative approach to improve efficiency and customer experience for all players along the supply chain.
Xu further said that Cainiao’s strong network and expertise in logistics and supply chain capabilities will help its partners and customers in Indonesia to achieve more in less time. Additionally, Xu is optimistic that the presence of the Cainiao Cikarang Logistics Park can drive local and regional trading activities by streamlining workflows and processes throughout the value chain.
