Heaptalk, Jakarta — Indragiri Hilir (Inhil) Regency reportedly won Smart City Award 2023, which was organized by The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology. The award was handed directly by Kominfo’s Minister Budi Ari to Acting Regent Herman, who was represented by Head of Inhil’s Diskominfo, Trio Beni Putra, at ICE BSD, Tangerang. (07/12).
During the agenda, Beni Putra stated, “We would like to thank Kominfo for guiding us in creating Smart City’s master plan. We won this award because we managed to complete the Masterplan of Smart City, which is part of Kominfo’s program.”
Beni added that the local government has started to develop Smart City System in the region. The regional government also accomplished the master plan, which later made the region win this award.
In more detail, Beni explained that the region will prioritize Smart City Economy by making coconut as the featured product and will rebrand this product to be the icon of Indagiri Regency.
“We hope this plan can bring significant impact to the society’s welfare, considering 4,000 hectares of our regions is planted with coconut trees,” conveyed Beni.
To achieve this goal, Indragiri’s Kominfo made a strategy to make coconut’s price competitive, which is stated in the draft. Coconut will also be exported abroad. Likewise, Indragiri Hilir will also be one of the national suppliers.
Aside from trading’s viewpoint, Beni also revealed that he would make coconuts a tourist destination, thus the region will insert a coconut as the theme in the regional events, such as fashion shows where the clothes are made by coconuts, coconut dance, etc. Beni hopes this measure can improve the community’s economy in the regency.
