Heaptalk, Jakarta — The West Kutai Regency Government has started the Dahau Festival as a series of celebrations for its 24th anniversary on October 23, 2023. On this occasion, West Kutai Vice Regent Edyanto Arkan emphasized the importance of solidarity in maintaining the unity of West Kutai.
Edy said, “I invite all levels of society to take advantage of this golden momentum to maintain solidarity towards a prosperous and advanced West Kutai.” Additionally, he also hoped that the community would provide full support for the development of Nusantara Capital City (IKN) in East Kalimantan Province, specifically in Sepaku District, North Penajam Paser Regency.
Located to the west of IKN, West Kutai Regency is one of the capital city buffer areas along with five other regencies/cities, namely North Penajam Paser Regency, Paser Regency, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, Balikpapan City, and Samarinda City. Therefore, the support of the West Kutai community plays an important role in the success of IKN development.
Apart from that, Edy asked all parties, both regional government and all levels of society, to maximize preparations for welcoming President Joko Widodo on November 3 and the peak of the Dahau Festival on November 5. Regarding security for President Joko Widodo’s visit, the West Kutai Police and the Armed Forces from Kodim 0912/Kbr are ready to provide security assistance together with the Presidential Security Force (Paspampres).
The West Kutai Regency Government will mobilize at least 25,000 citizens to welcome the arrival of President Joko Widodo. The welcoming event will start from Melalan Airport to Itho Sendawar Square at the West Kutai Regency Government Office Complex. After that, the President will participate in the declaration and thanksgiving for the transfer of the Nusantara Capital City at the Sendawar Cultural Park as well as receiving the Dayak traditional title.
