Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) of West Kutai Regency held a special plenary meeting I with the agenda of listening to the Regent’s speech in commemoration of the regency’s 24th anniversary. The meeting took place at West Kutai DPRD Secretariat, Sendawar, Barong Tongkok District (11/04).
“West Kutai Regency is currently the largest regency in East Kalimantan Province,” said Edyanto in Sendawar (11/04). With its capital in Sendawar, this regency is a division of Kutai Kartanegara Regency based on Law No. 47 of 1999.
Currently, the Regency Government continues to strive for development in West Kutai to become an increasingly fair, independent, and prosperous regency based on a people’s economy and improving the quality of human resources.
“(We want) to spread equitable development and prosperity for the community as stated in the government’s work mission for the 2021-2025 period, namely improving the community’s economy through regional-based community economic development based on sustainable potential,” Edyanto explained.
Edyanto further hoped that West Kutai would achieve sustainable advancement in the future. However, he admitted that there were several shortcomings that his party had made which would be improvements for now and in the future.
“In this way, we can feel satisfied with the progress we have currently achieved. I also hope that in the future the development of West Kutai will be much better than now to provide prosperity for the people,” Edyanto voiced.
Meanwhile, Speaker of the West Kutai DPRD Ridwai hoped that as the West Kutai Regency gets older, the development will progress further to reach remote areas that have not yet been reached by equitable development. (Translated by Sinta)
