Heaptalk, Jakarta — Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita received a visit from the new Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Anindya Bakrie, and the board of directors at the Ministry of Industry’s office in South Jakarta on Thursday (09/19).
In the meeting held in the office of the Minister of Industry, Agus Gumiwang was accompanied by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Industry and the Minister’s Special Staff. Meanwhile, Anindya Bakrie was present with the Deputy Chairman for Industrial Affairs Bobby Gafur Umar, the Chairman of Kadin Lampung Muhammad Kadafi, and the Advisory Board Member Nita Yudi.
“To the new Chairman and Board of Kadin Indonesia, we extend our congratulations on the successful Extraordinary National Conference, which led to Mr. Anindya Bakrie being elected as the Chairman of Kadin Indonesia for the 2024-2029 period,” said Agus Gumiwang.
Agus Gumiwang also invited Anindya Bakrie to collaborate in formulating a roadmap for the development of the manufacturing industry over the next five years. He stated, “Therefore, to build this roadmap, it has been agreed that there will be a meeting between the Ministry of Industry and Kadin Indonesia shortly, involving all industry associations under the Ministry of Industry’s guidance.”
Furthermore, multiple collaborations between the Ministry of Industry and Kadin Indonesia will continue to be promoted to be more optimal and aligned with the National Industrial Development Master Plan (RIPIN). The Ministry of Industry places great hope in this collaboration to build the future of Indonesia’s manufacturing industry.
On the other hand, Anindya Bakrie expressed his gratitude for the time given by the Minister of Industry to meet with the Kadin Indonesia board members. “Thank you to the Minister for his willingness to receive us as the new Kadin Indonesia Chairman. During the meeting, we reported the results of the Extraordinary National Conference of Kadin Indonesia, held last Saturday (14/9) in Jakarta,” said Anindya.
The cooperation between the two parties has benefited industry players. The Minister of Industry mentioned that the collaboration includes, among other things, the development of downstream programs for mineral, natural gas, palm oil, cocoa, and coconut industries. Additionally, Kadin and the Ministry of Industry also collaborate in strengthening and protecting domestic industries through policies such as the Domestic Component Level (TKDN) to deepen the domestic industrial structure, the implementation of Indonesian National Standards (SNI), increasing the capacity of small and medium industrial (IKM) components to enter the automotive industry supply chain, industrial human resource education and training, the development of green industries, the empowerment of halal sectors, and other forms of cooperation.
