Heaptalk, Jakarta — Indonesia’s President Joko ‘Jokowi‘ Widodo inspected the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) Rupit in North Musi Rawas Regency, South Sumatra Province, to check the adequacy of human resources and medical equipment at the hospital. (05/30)

The seventh President of Indonesia expressed satisfaction with the hospital’s availability of specialist doctors and medical equipment. “I am pleased to visit RSUD Musi Rawas Utara, as the human resources, doctors, and specialists are excellent and complete,” said President Jokowi.

President Jokowi also mentioned that medical equipment from the Ministry of Health had been delivered to the hospital, including surgical equipment and a CT scan machine.

However, the President highlighted a significant issue faced by the hospital, namely the inadequate electricity supply. To address this issue, the President immediately called the CEO of PLN (the state electricity company).

“The only problem here is the insufficient electricity supply from PLN, so I directly called the CEO of PLN to resolve this as quickly as possible,” explained President Jokowi, demonstrating the government’s swift response to infrastructure deficiencies that could hinder healthcare services.

President Jokowi underscored that the electricity issue is not isolated to the hospital but affects the entire North Musi Rawas Regency. Recognizing the crucial role of electricity in supporting healthcare facilities and services, he expects improvements in the electrical infrastructure to be implemented soon.

This inspection is part of the government’s efforts to ensure that healthcare facilities in Indonesia have adequate infrastructure support, specifically in more remote areas.
