Heaptalk, Jakarta — Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy officially introduced the Indonesian Tourism Index Portal called Prakarsa (11/13).
This portal is an integrated information system that provides a visualization of Indonesia’s achievements in the Travel and Tourism Development Index (TTDI) and the ranking results of the National Tourism Development Index.
“Currently, Prakarsa can be accessed by all academic, business, community, government, and media (ABCGM) stakeholders as well as the public. This platform is a forum for coordinating cross-sector work teams who participatively update data,” said Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno in The Weekly Brief with Sandi Uno in Jakarta (11/13).
Meanwhile, the National Tourism Development Index is a platform developed to measure tourism development in Indonesia while still using standard references at the global level. This index is also an indicator of government performance which can show the performance of tourism development nationally.
According to Sandiaga, cross-sector coordination is one of the strategic efforts made by the government to achieve harmony and integration in improving Indonesia’s performance on the global stage. This strategic effort is carried out through the process of planning and implementing well-being tasks at the level of policies, programs, and activities, as well as the formation of work teams to support increasing Indonesia’s TTDI ranking. Therefore, the Indonesian Tourism Index Portal is needed to support efforts to improve Indonesia’s performance.
“In the TTDI 2021, Indonesia is ranked 32nd, raising 12 places from the TTDI 2019. We are still waiting for Indonesia’s achievements in the TTDI 2023 which will be announced by the World Economic Forum (WEF) in 2024. Hopefully, we can enter the top 30,” concluded Sandiaga. (Translated by Sinta)
