To produce quality medical personnel, Fakfak Regency signs partnership with UMI Makassar

Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Government of Fakfak Regency has partnered with Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) Makassar to produce quality medical personnel. Regent Untung Tamsil and UMI Makassar Rector Prof. Sufirman Rahman signed the cooperation MoU in Makassar, South Sulawesi, on Sunday (06/23).

Regent Untung Tamsil stated that this collaboration is essential in preparing human resources in the health sector, supporting the vision and mission of Smiling Fakfak by improving human resource quality under the brand Smart Fakfak. “Therefore, with this cooperation in the field of Medicine, we plan to send five of the best sons and daughters of Fakfak for dental and general medical education, who will then be encouraged and prepared to become specialist doctors,” explained Regent Untung Tamsil to the media after the MoU signing.

Furthermore, the Regent emphasized that this cooperation is not limited to the health sector but will also be developed in various other fields that support development policies in Fakfak. He said, “Indeed, this partnership will not only cover the medical sector but, God willing, in the future also other prospects in several fields to support development policies in Fakfak.”

Meanwhile, UMI Makassar Rector Sufirman Rahman stated that the university is committed to collaborating with the Fakfak Regency Government to embody Smart Fakfak. This cooperation is expected to expand into multiple sectors in the future. He said, “With the presence of UMI Makassar there, we hope that the cooperation, which begins with the faculty of dentistry, can expand to various sectors.”

In addition, Sufirman emphasized that the principle of this cooperation is to provide mutual benefits for both parties. “The principle of cooperation is to bring blessings and benefits to both parties,” he concluded.
