Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Ministry of National Development Planning (Bappenas) has launched the Social and Economic Registration System (Regsosek) during an event titled ‘Collaboration for Utilizing the Social and Economic Registration Data System’ in Jakarta (06/20).
On this occasion, the Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas Suharso Monoarfa emphasized the importance of Regsosek as a strategic step towards Golden Indonesia 2045, aligned with President Joko Widodo’s directives.
“The President has directed that in supporting the implementation of social protection system reforms, the Government is expected to improve the database of recipients through the development of Regsosek and accelerate the eradication of extreme poverty. Additionally, this year, we will conclude the Long-Term Development Plan 2005-2025 and soon enter the new development planning period 2025-2045. Therefore, the Regsosek data will complement the development targets and objectives that can bring prosperity to the Indonesian people towards Golden Indonesia 2045,” Suharso explained in Jakarta on Thursday (20/6).
In more detail, the one-data Regsosek system emphasizes the importance of integrating social and economic data based on the national identification number to strengthen evidence-based planning and budgeting, improve budget efficiency, and ensure precise targeting. Moving forward, data in Regsosek can be utilized by ministries/agencies, even at the regional level. Additionally, this data can also be accessed by academics and civil society organizations to support studies and other activities to support government programs while adhering to personal data protection principles.
Furthermore, collaboration and commitment from various parties are needed to ensure that Regsosek’s data remains up-to-date and valid. Minister Suharso emphasized that collaborative and periodic data integration and updates between ministries/agencies/regions are essential to produce accurate data for development planning. He said, “Accurate, comprehensive, and ranked social and economic data are a strong foundation in planning development programs. This follows Article 31 of Law Number 25 of 2004: ” Development planning must be based on accurate and accountable data and information.”
Minister Suharso hopes this event will enhance collaboration and commitment between the central and regional governments to support the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045. “Today’s event hopefully strengthens our commitment to achieving accurate and interconnected population data. Strong, accurate, up-to-date, and integrated data is the main key to development in achieving the Vision of Golden Indonesia 2045 to become a Sovereign, Advanced, and Sustainable Nusantara Country,” concluded Suharso.
