Heaptalk, Jakarta — After being inaugurated as Regent and Vice Regent of Tangerang on Thursday (02/20) at the State Palace, Moch. Maesyal Rasyid and Intan Nurul Hikmah will focus on implementing their vision and mission, particularly achieving their goals within the next 100 days.

According to them, many issues need to be addressed immediately, including environmental concerns, education, stunting, and other services for the people of Tangerang Regency. “Of course, we will focus on immediately working to serve the community, especially in the first 100 days of work,” said Tangerang Regent Maesyal.

In the same place, Deputy Regent of Tangerang Intan Nurul Hikmah added that in the 100 days of work, she would focus on environmental concerns, particularly in waste management in Tangerang Regency. “Because this waste issue, in my opinion, has become urgent for Tangerang Regency,” Intan added.

Five hectares remain at the Jatiwaringin landfill for waste disposal. Intan said this would become a problem if waste is not managed properly. Whether we like it or not, the waste at the landfill must be handled using technology to empty it.

Intan stated, “In the future when we can have policies, all major developers, such as Sinarmas, Sumarecon, Paramount, and Alam Sutra, must have their own waste management systems so they do not contribute to waste.”

Likewise, Intan said the Tangerang Regency government would cluster the areas that contributed the most waste in the district areas. She also plans to revive Tangerang Regency’s holding company, Mitra Kerta Raharja (MKR). She mentioned that garbage, which should be disposed of, can be processed into regional revenue and drive the economy.

“Why collaborate with MKR? Because high-value plastic waste can be processed. There must be collaboration so that the products from waste management can be sold as income for the region. Thus, the economy in Tangerang Regency can run,” she concluded.
