Heaptalk, Jakarta — Tangerang Regency Government organized a training program in 2024 devoted to former prisoners, aiming to support their social reintegration and economic recovery within the community.
Acting Assistant to the Regional Secretary for Government and People’s Welfare (Asda I), Syaifullah, explained that the activity is a tangible manifestation of the Tangerang Regency Government’s commitment to supporting the social reintegration and welfare recovery of former prisoners in the region.
“As a society founded on Pancasila values, we recognize that every individual has the right and opportunity to improve themselves and contribute to the community, including our brothers and sisters who have served time,” he said.
The event aims to equip former prisoners with the necessary skills, knowledge, and motivation to re-enter society with confidence and productivity.
“The Tangerang Regency Government is committed to continuously supporting these reintegration efforts through various programs focusing on empowerment, job training, and business mentorship,” he added.
He expressed hope that through this training program, former inmates would find a better direction in life, build self-confidence, and uncover untapped potential.
“I encourage all elements of society—government, private sector, and civil society—to support these individuals so they can become productive members. Moral support and opportunities to prove themselves are crucial in this process,” he concluded.
