Heaptalk, Jakarta — Acting Mayor of Tangerang, Nurdin launched the collaborative program towards TBC Elimination (Ransel TBC) along with the Simultaneous Screening Implementation Socialization for cadres using the TB self-screening application.
In his remarks, Nurdin revealed that the Tangerang City Government has made innovative moves to expedite the elimination of TBC by simultaneously using the TBC self-screening application.
“With this implementation, officers no longer have to conduct individual screenings by visiting the community. They can perform self-screening or initial analysis. The member can then socialize the application to the community, thus accelerating TBC elimination,” explained Nurdin.
Furthermore, the Acting Mayor of Tangerang stated that in 2023, the city found and treated 10,955 TB cases. This has become a focal point for the Tangerang City Government in taking concrete steps to combat the disease in the city.
“We hope that activities can raise public awareness about the importance of TB prevention and encourage those showing symptoms to get tested immediately. Collaboration is the key to achieving TB elimination,” he said.
Meanwhile, Ruta Ireng Wicaksono, Assistant for Economic and Regional Development of Tangerang City, mentioned that this activity was attended in a hybrid manner by 8,730 participants, including Member of Members of the Family Assistance Team (TPK) Head, Community Social Workers (PSM), and Integrated Healthcare Centers from each district in Tangerang City. This activity is part of the intensive efforts by the Tangerang City Government to combat Tuberculosis (TBC) in the city.
“The screening implementation will run from July 1 to December 2024. It is hoped that with this socialization, members in each district of Tangerang City will understand the simultaneous screening implementation and can determine how many people are detected with TBC,” concluded Ruta.
