Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Government of South Halmahera Regency, North Maluku Province, is participating in the Apkasi Otonomi Expo (AOE) 2024, held over three days from July 10-12 at Halls A and B of the Jakarta Convention Center.
Regent Bassam Kasuba stated that the Regency Government has set up a booth showcasing local products and promoting tourism destinations. He hopes the AOE event at the JCC Jakarta will attract investors to invest in the region, thereby improving the community’s welfare. “Apkasi Otonomi Expo is an event to showcase regional potentials, such as crafts, arts, and culture,” Bassam said after the opening of the Apkasi Otonomi Expo 2024 (07/10).
The event serves as a platform to introduce MSME products and regional flagship commodities, aiming to expand marketing targets. He voiced, “We hope investment from various sectors can come to the region to boost the local economy.”

On the first day of AOE 2024 (07/10), the South Halmahera booth successfully attracted many visitors from various regencies across Indonesia. Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka, the Vice President-elect, added to the excitement. Several Regency Government officials, particularly several heads of Regional Apparatus Organizations, accompanied Gibran as he entered the booth at the Apkasi Otonomi Expo at the JCC.
“Yes, it’s true Gibran entered the South Halmahera booth. He seemed interested and immediately headed to the calamansi orange drink product. He was also quite enthusiastic about the products we displayed at the booth,” explained Nasir Koda, Head of the Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Department (DPMPTSP), to Heaptalk on Wednesday (07/10).
Gibran’s presence at the South Halmahera booth boosted the morale of the Regency Government officials and residents and increased other visitors’ attention to the region’s flagship products.
