For t” is an achievement, Asrun Lio and Acting Governor Andap expressed their appreciation and gratitude to all parties involved in controlling inflation in Southeast Sulawesi, from ensuring sufficient stock and availability of goods to maintaining stable prices that remain affordable for the public.

“This remains our collective responsibility—to continue managing the inflation rate in Southeast Sulawesi from the provincial and city governments, state-owned enterprises (BUMN), regional-owned enterprises (BUMD), the private sector, and other relevant parties. I also urge the public to prioritize essential needs when shopping and avoid panic buying. Let’s collaborate in maintaining and stabilizing the region,” he said.

During the meeting, Asrun Lio also shared that the Director General of Regional Development at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Restuardy Daud, MSc, highlighted the ten provinces with the lowest inflation rates, with the top spots going to Babel, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Papua, South Papua, Central Kalimantan, West Kalimantan, Southeast Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Southwest Papua, and South Kalimantan.

The Director General further explained that in the third week of August 2024, the Price Growth Index (IPH) for Southeast Sulawesi stood at -1.55, marking a decline, placing the province among the lowest inflation rates nationwide.

Restuardy also outlined that inflation control policies for 2024 align with the President’s directives during the 2024 National Inflation Control Coordination Meeting (Rakornas). The President of Indonesia provided five critical directions to TPIP and TPID in the 2024 Rakornas, focusing on strategies for safeguarding production and improving the efficiency of the food supply chain.
