Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Provincial Government of Southeast Sulawesi, under the leadership of Acting Governor Andap Budhi Revianto, received the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Award in the Prime Category. Vice President Ma’ruf Amin presented the award to Andap Budhi Revianto at The Krakatau Grand Ballroom TMII Jakarta on Thursday (08/08).
“The UHC Award is given to the Provincial Government along with all the agencies in the 17 regencies/cities in Southeast Sulawesi, the Health Department, BPJS Kesehatan, stakeholders, and other related parties who have successfully achieved 100% coverage in the National Health Insurance (JKN) program. This UHC Award is a form of appreciation from the central government for the commitment of the regional government whose JKN program participation coverage has exceeded the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) target of 95%,” said the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture in his speech.
On this occasion, Andap expressed his gratitude and pride for the award received. He said, “Thank God, Southeast Sulawesi has once again achieved recognition. This award results from the collaboration between the provincial/regency/city government and the BPJS Kesehatan branch in Southeast Sulawesi.”
Looking ahead, the local government and all related parties will work together to ensure that the community receives fair and quality access to health services. “It is meaningless if the community does not have easy, quick, and equal access to health services, especially for those in 3T areas (frontier, outermost, and least developed areas), not only those living in urban areas,” Andap added.
In 2023, Southeast Sulawesi received a UHC Award but had yet to enter the main category. Finally, in 2024, Southeast Sulawesi succeeded in entering the Main Category with coverage as of August 1, reaching 2,849,818 people, or 100%, exceeding the RPJMN target of 95%.
