Heaptalk, Qatar – Indonesia is reaching out to Qatar to bolster its flagship 3 Million Homes Program, with Minister of Publik Housing and Settlements (PKP), Maruarar Sirait, leading the charge during a working visit to Doha, in addition to accompanying President Prabowo Subianto on a working visit.
“Qatar’s support can be a game-changer for affordable housing in Indonesia,” Sirait said in a statement during his visit on April 12.
Minister Maruarar, also called Ara, and his delegation will meet with key players, including Standard Chartered and Qatar’s Minister of Municipality, to discuss potential collaboration and site developments. Strategic land plots—such as former DPR housing in Kalibata and BLBI land in Lippo Karawaci—have been earmarked for the initiative.
“Our message is clear, we are ready for investment. The sites are prepared, and we are looking for committed partners,” he added.
Upon arrival, Minister Ara and his delegation were warmly welcomed by Indonesia’s Ambassador to Qatar, Ridwan Hassan, and enjoyed a taste of local hospitality, including the traditional Karak tea.
“We arrived at midnight local time and were warmly received by Ambassador Ridwan Hassan. Thank you for the warm welcome and the delicious Karak tea,” said the Minister.
