Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Public Works and Public Housing Ministry (PUPR), through the Directorate General of Housing, reported had built 79,568 houses by the end of February 2024 as part of One Million Houses Program (PSR).
“One Million Houses Program (PSR) is a concrete manifestation of the Government’s effort to provide decent and affordable housing for people throughout Indonesia,” said the Director General of Housing of the Ministry of PUPR, Iwan Suprijanto at the Ministry of PUPR, Jakarta, Wednesday (20/3/ 2024).
According to Iwan, PSR is an acceleration and collaboration movement between the government and housing development actors in providing adequate housing for the community which was launched by the President of the Republic of Indonesia on April 29, 2015. In its implementation, PUPR Ministry also continues to encourage collaboration and synergy from various working partners in the housing sector such as ministries/institutions, local governments, banks, the private sector and the community.
“One Million Houses program was launched by President Joko Widodo and is a national strategic program that needs support from various parties. “The PSR achievement from 2015 to 2023 is 9,206,379 units in all regions of Indonesia,” he explained.
Meanwhile, the Director of Public and Commercial Housing, Directorate General of Housing, Ministry of PUPR, Fitrah Nur, explained that the PSR achievement until the end of February 2024 was 79,568 units. This achievement is around 7.63 percent of the total national target, including development achievements for low-income communities (MBR) of 61,906 units and non-MBR of 17,662 units.
Fitrah voiced that his party also carried out data collection activities for PSR program through Target Coordination and Technical Guidance for Data Collection for PSR program in 2024 on February 5-7. Based on existing data, the PSR achievement in January 2024 was 24,407 units or 2.34 percent of the total national target, including development achievements for MBR of 19,539 units and non-MBR of 4,868 units.
Meanwhile, the PSR achievement in February 2024 was 79,568 units or 7.63 percent of the total national target, including development achievements for MBR of 61,906 units and non-MBR of 17,662 units.
PUPR ministry managed to provide 1,315 houses for MBR, 205 units from the local government, 60,383 units from non-FLPP developers, 2 housing CSR units and 1 community unit. As for non-MBR houses, 17,642 units were implemented by non-MBR developers and 20 units by the community.
“In general, the data collection performance of PSR and the realization of the construction of a million houses tend to increase. This is illustrated by the year-on-year comparison of the PSR achievement in February 2024 of 79,568 units, an increase compared to the PSR achievement in February 2023, which was 42,885 units,” he concluded.
He also added that the Ministry is optimistic that PSR achievements will continue to increase until the end of the year and will be supported by all parties because housing is one of the basic needs that must be answered.
