Heaptalk, Jakarta — Nusantara Capital (IKN) is now officially open to the public through registration via the IKNOW super app. The app is directly overseen by the Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) under the Deputy for Green and Digital Transformation, Mohammed Ali Berawi.
In the past week, there has been a significant increase in app downloads and visits to IKN. Currently, the IKNOW app has been downloaded by over 42,000 users, with 33,800 on the Android platform and 8,200 on iOS. This reflects the public’s interest in experiencing Nusantara’s new capital firsthand.
Around 11,000 physical visitors came to IKN last week out of the total downloads. OIKN reports that these visitors included the general public and representatives from ministries, government agencies, and private sector organizations. The data is continually being updated for greater accuracy.
Mohammed Ali stated that public interest remains high despite some challenges that OIKN is currently addressing. If the visitor quota needs to be increased, further evaluation is underway to ensure the optimal visitor experience. “We are committed to making Nusantara not just a physical capital but also a smart, green, digital, and digitally friendly capital in the future,” he added.
OIKN’s evaluations aim to strengthen the existing infrastructure and services. Regarding any issues with the IKNOW app, Mohammed Ali confirmed that it is functioning well. “We haven’t encountered any significant technical problems. Our team is working hard to ensure the IKNOW app is continually updated and adapts to the needs of the public. We have also provided a help channel for users who experience difficulties,” he explained.
In addition to discussing the app’s achievements and public interest, Ali emphasized the importance of personal data protection and cybersecurity for IKNOW users. OIKN has conducted an IT Security Assessment (ITSA) in collaboration with the National Cyber and Encryption Agency (BSSN) to assess the security of digital assets, including the IKNOW app.
“This initiative aims to identify the strengths of our cybersecurity and areas that need improvement, including the protection of IKNOW users’ data,” he stated. OIKN has also implemented biometric security measures to verify app users’ identities and conducts daily data backups to mitigate potential risks.
