Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Acting Regent of North Kolaka Sukanto Toding took part in a national coordination meeting to discuss the Acceleration and Expansion of Regional Digitalization (P2DD) organized by the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs at Grand Sahid Jaya, Jakarta (10/03).

Sukanto welcomed the government’s initiative to accelerate and expand regional digitalization. He said, “Accelerating and expanding regional digitalization is the right step to advance regional government. Collaboration and synergy between central and regional governments is the key to achieving a broader and more effective digitalization vision.”

The agenda aims to carry out the mandate of Presidential Decree No. 3 of 2021 on the Task Force for the Acceleration and Expansion of Regional Digitalization (P2DD Task Force) as well as reinforcing Article 8 of the Decree of the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs No. 147 of 202 on the Membership, Duties and Work Mechanisms of the P2DD Task Force. According to that, the Coordinating Minister for the Economy, as Chair of the P2DD Task Force, invited stakeholders to participate in the P2DD national coordination meeting on October 3, 2023.

Further, Sukanto expected that this meeting could become the highest coordination forum to accelerate and expand regional digitalization in Indonesia as the government has emphasized the importance of accelerating the digitalization of regional financial transactions.

Targeting 6-7% economic growth through digital technology

At the P2DD national coordination meeting, Vice President Ma’ruf Amin conveyed directions to achieve the economic growth target in the range of 6-7% through strengthening digital technology. This direction is aligned with the vision of the North Kolaka Regency Government to contribute to economic progress through digital innovation.

“One effort to achieve this target is through strengthening digital technology. Strengthening digital technology requires readiness at all levels, including regional government,” Ma’ruf voiced.

Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto as Chair of the P2DD Task Force explained several achievements of the P2DD Task Force in the period 2022 to the first semester of 2023. “Implementation of the Regional Government Transaction Electronification (ETPD) policy, based on the ETPD Index Survey for the first semester of 2023, the number of Regional Governments in the Digital category reached 399 Regional Governments or 73.6%. The government is optimistic that this year’s target of 75% can be achieved,” said Airlangga.

In this regard, the North Kolaka Regency Government is committed to continuing to support efforts to accelerate regional digitalization for the sake of economic progress and community welfare. Collaboration and synergy with the central government will be a priority in implementing innovative digital programs. The results of this meeting are expected to provide a strong foundation for North Kolaka to achieve success in facing global challenges through steady and targeted digitalization.
