Heaptalk, Jakarta — Nusantara Capital Authority (NCA) has entered a partnership with Motorola Solutions, Inc. to implement security and safety technology in Nusantara Capital or IKN (06/12).
This collaboration exhibits both parties’ commitment to embodying Nusantara Capital as a smart, resilient, sustainable, and inclusive city. Representatives of both parties signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at the NCA office (06/12).
According to Prof. Mohammed Ali Berawi, Deputy for Green and Digital Transformation at Nusantara Capital Authority, the development of Nusantara Capital is a project with significant opportunities for creating knowledge and developing the latest technologies.
“With this mega-scale project and various facilities provided by the government, relocating the capital is a great opportunity for all parties to participate in building a legacy of civilization, including in the current global context. The blueprint for Nusantara smart city attracts various investors and global technology providers to build IKN jointly,” Prof. Ali explained.
Developing a command center pilot project
Meanwhile, Richard Brecher, Motorola‘s Global Director of Government Affairs, stated, “Building a new capital city is a once-in-a-generation opportunity. We hope to contribute to developing a robust, interoperable, and sustainable technology system in IKN.”
Aligned with Brecher, Chang Kar Weng, Motorola’s Director for Indonesia-Singapore-Brunei, also expressed his appreciation for the plans and roadmap to realize Nusantara as a green, sustainable, and resilient city. “Along with green initiatives, Motorola is committed to developing technology and solutions for the safety and security of the community to build Nusantara as a safe city,” Chang added.
Motorola, with the support of the United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), is committed to implementing technology in the public safety and security sector, such as video surveillance, emergency communications, access control, and a consortium to develop a command center pilot project by the end of 2024.
