Heaptalk, Jakarta — To enliven the 24th anniversary of West Kutai, regional apparatus organizations (OPD) and communities in the district organize multiple enticing competitions, including storytelling, ketinting boat racing, and tourism activities.
In more detail, the Archives and Library Department holds a storytelling competition for elementary school students and for the general participants with a minimum of junior high school students. The Department also held a competition of bemamai or grumbling in the Kutai local language for general participants.
The Ketinting Racing Community hosts a ketinting boat racing competition with registration starting on October 17, 2023. The Tourism Department holds various competitions related to tourism activities. Additionally, this Department also organizes an exhibition regarding tourism destinations in West Kutai.
For the development exhibition, the West Kutai Regency Government has prepared stands that will be occupied by MSMEs and OPDs to display their respective products and services. One of the OPDs, Sendawar Pratama Regional Public Hospital (RSUD), serves high blood pressure checks for free. “Come on, what are you waiting for, visit our stand at the 24th Anniversary of West Kutai,” stated RSUD Pratama as cited from its official Facebook account.
West Kutai Inspectorate prepares its stand
In addition to RSUD Pratama, several other OPDs in the West Kutai Regency Government are also designing their respective exhibition stands, one of which is the West Kutai Inspectorate. West Kutai Inspector Robertus Bellarminus Belly Djuedi Widodo and his members are decorating the stand under Lamin Aoheng. According to Robertus, this event is the appropriate moment to show the public the performance of the West Kutai Inspectorate thus far.
The West Kutai Inspectorat prepares a photo booth depicting the conditions in the detention room as a means of educating the public about the consequences of unlawful actions, including corruption.
“They do not only come to take photos, but we will also provide education regarding actions that violate the law. At this stand, apart from the Inspectorate, there is also the Prosecutor’s Office. Later we will also prepare prisoner vests to depict as if we are securing prisoners,” Robertus said while decorating the stand.
Other regional organizations that are also preparing stands are the Communication and Informatics Department, LPP RRI and TVRI, as well as the Education and Culture Department.
