Cooperatives and MSMEs in Pandeglang, Banten has great economic potential in the agricultural sector, spanning beneng taro, clove oil, palm sugar, and ornamental plants.

Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs encourages the development of cooperatives and MSMEs in Pandeglang Regency, Banten, to be strengthened with a cluster approach.

According to Yulius, Deputy for Micro Enterprises, Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, Pandeglang has great economic potential in the agricultural sector with a variety of superior commodities. These economic potentials include beneng taro and its processed chopped leaves, clove oil, palm sugar, ornamental plants, coconut and its processed products, vanilla, and wallet. In addition, this Regency also owns the potential for maritime and tourism business.

With the cluster approach, Yulius expected that the cooperative and MSME ecosystem will form cooperation in production, procurement of raw materials, marketing, technology, innovation, and strong partnerships with multiple stakeholders.

In accordance with the mandate of Government Regulation No. 7 of 2021, Yulius said that the Ministry continues to provide support for the development of cooperatives and MSMEs, in the form of facilitating access to MSME financing through people’s business credit (KUR) and cooperative financing through the Revolving Fund Management Institution for Cooperatives and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (LPDB-KUKM). His party also facilitates promotion and marketing access through onboarding assistance and exhibitions both at home and abroad.

Further, the Ministry also facilitates capacity building for MSME human resources, both vocational and competency based on the leading MSME sectors, spanning fashion, creative economy, culinary, home décor, agriculture/plantation, fisheries/livestock, and tourism.

“Including assistance in issuing business legality and certification such as NIB, HKI-Brand, Halal, SPIRT, MD, and others. Likewise with the corporatization of food cooperatives to strengthen the bargaining position of MSMEs and their business partnerships,” said Yulius while attending the opening of the MSME Festival and Ramadan Bazaar in Pandeglang, Banten (04/01).

Yulius hoped that the MSME Festival and Ramadan Bazaar will have a positive impact on reviving the people’s economy in Pandeglang Regency, as well as helping the community to obtain basic commodities and other needs at affordable prices.
