Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR), through the Directorate General of Housing, is constructing an eight-story apartment building for State Civil Apparatus assigned to the province of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).
The construction site is located at TGH Faesal Street No. 555, Bengkel Village, Labuapi District, West Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara. The vertical housing is being built to a height of eight floors on a 2,500 square meter plot, with physical progress of the apartment construction currently at 40%.
The apartment complex will have 72 units, divided into two types: 36 and 45 square meters, and is expected to accommodate up to 216 people. Floors 1 to 3 are designed as multipurpose spaces, such as offices, while the remaining floors will be residential. Each unit will be furnished and equipped with infrastructure, facilities, utilities, landscaping, drainage, and infiltration wells in a green building concept.
The contractor of this project is PT Relis Sapindo Utama, with PT Artefak Arkindo KSO PT Tujuh Jaya Konsultan serving as the construction management consultant. The apartment complex is expected to be completed by December. The apartment aims to provide a conducive living environment, allowing civil servants to focus on infrastructure development for the community without worrying about housing while stationed in NTB.
“Currently, the construction of this vertical housing, which embraces a mixed-use development concept for both residential and office purposes, is underway and is expected to be completed by the end of the year. This apartment will be intended for PUPR civil servants assigned to NTB, particularly those from outside the region, allowing them to reside in adequate housing,” said Iwan Suprijanto, Director General of Housing at the Ministry of PUPR, on Monday (08/12).
Iwan added, “We understand that within the Ministry of PUPR, staff rotations and changes are frequent. NTB also has several offices of PUPR units such as BWS, BP2JK, BPPW, Balai P2P, and other work units where many employees are not local and need housing. Rather than renting or searching for temporary accommodation, they can stay in this apartment. Consequently, their performance expectations must be increased.”
Furthermore, the Ministry encourages local governments to promote more apartment construction as an effort to optimize land use for housing. Additionally, the Ministry supports the mixed-use development concept, where the apartments serve both residential and office functions to make better use of land.
“We also want the apartments to be built with a green and smart building concept, incorporating local wisdom in its design. We hope that local governments will adopt this concept for housing developments for both the community and ASNs in the region,” Iwan said.
Meanwhile, I Wayan Suardana, Head of Balai P2P Nusa Tenggara I, Directorate General of Housing, explained that the PUPR civil servant apartments are being constructed based on the need for housing for employees from various PUPR units who do not yet have accommodation, primarily those from outside NTB. Balai P2P Nusa Tenggara I is also coordinating with the Government and Regional Development Oversight and Security Team (TP4D) of the NTB High Prosecutor’s Office to expedite the apartment construction.
“The apartment units will also be provided for people with disabilities and will include prayer rooms, elevators, emergency stairs, and outdoor areas. We are currently coordinating with PUPR units in NTB to identify eligible employees who will reside in these apartments,” Wayan concluded.
