Heaptalk, Jakarta — Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Abdullah Azwar Anas presented the Government Agency Performance Accountability System (SAKIP) 2024 evaluation results to government agencies. The results showed that SAKIP scores for provincial and regency/city governments have improved over the past ten years.
Anas stated that this increase reflects the government’s commitment to creating a more transparent and results-oriented bureaucracy. “The SAKIP achievements over the last ten years, from 2014 to 2023, show a positive trend. This improvement is evident in better governance and enhanced performance accountability,” Anas said during the Regional Government Performance Accountability 2024 Evaluation Results ceremony in Jakarta on Wednesday (10/02).
The SAKIP 2024 evaluation covered 36 provincial and 505 regency/city governments. In addition to the three regions that received an AA score, the Tuban Regency Government and the Blitar City Government earned an A rating. Meanwhile, 16 other regional governments received a BB score, with 39 receiving a B rating. The remaining regions scored below B.
The average score for regency/city governments in 2024 was 64.23, an increase of 0.18 points from 2023. Meanwhile, the average score for provincial governments in 2024 was 70.75, a slight decrease of 1.42 points from 2023. This drop was due to the inclusion of two newly evaluated provinces.
Since 2018, the Special Region of Yogyakarta has maintained its AA rating for six consecutive years. This year, Banyuwangi Regency and Surabaya City also achieved an AA rating. With optimal SAKIP implementation, budgeting and planning are aligned. It also encourages development through synchronized and precise planning, budgeting, and performance.
Over the past five years, this accountability system has contributed to accelerating development agendas, such as poverty alleviation. SAKIP ensures that every rupiah spent by the government benefits the public. Regional governments with AA and A scores have lower poverty rates than the national average. This improvement is not limited to poverty reduction but extends to other development agendas, such as reducing unemployment rates.
“On average, regional governments with AA and A SAKIP scores have a Human Development Index (HDI) higher than the national average,” Anas explained. He also emphasized that every government agency should contribute to achieving development priorities. Minister Anas appreciated the regional governments that improved their SAKIP ratings.
He hopes these achievements can be maintained and enhanced in the coming years. “We realize that various accomplishments through SAKIP must continue to improve amid the dynamic challenges and rising public expectations,” Anas concluded.
