Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikburistek) through the Center for Data and Information Technology (Pusdatin) initiated a program called Information and Communication Technology/ICT-based learning known as PembaTIK 2023.
This program aims to improve teachers’ ICT competence and promote the use of technology in the education sector. Has started in July 2023, currently, this program has entered the final stage, namely level 4, where the 30 best participants from 38 provinces in Indonesia take part in the sharing and collaborating
Adopting the theme ‘Collaborating and transforming to grow the digital ecosystem towards independent learning’, PembaTIK 2023 focuses on empowering teachers to increase their competence in using technology for learning needs.
Commencing PembaTIK 2023 level 4 public lecture, Secretary General of the Ministry of Education and Culture Suharti stated that the covid-19 pandemic has encouraged educators in Indonesia to adapt to using technology. She said, “By sharing competencies, the Ministry of Education and Culture encourages teachers not only to be able to apply the technology in learning and teaching activities but also to be innovative in learning.”
Suharti further added that the PembaTIK program is expected to be a catalyst for expanding the distribution of education quality in Indonesia. “PembaTIK level 4 can be a forum for sharing insights and exchanging knowledge between teachers. Please take advantage of the forum well, and keep up the spirit until you have completed the PembaTIK 2023 program,” Suharti voiced.
Selected for Technology Ambassador 2023
On the same occasion, the Head of Pusdatin Muhamad Hasan Chabibie revealed that the PembaTIK program is carried out in 4 levels, namely level 1-ICT Literacy, level 2-ICT Implementation, level 3-ICT Creation, and level 4-Sharing and Collaborating.
A total of 79,919 participants from early childhood education, elementary schools, junior high schools, senior high schools, vocational high schools, special schools, and overseas schools throughout Indonesia participated in PembaTIK level 1-ICT Literacy, which took place online in July 2023. PembaTIK level 2-ICT Implementation was held in August and attended by 33,923 participants.
PembaTIK level 3-ICT Creation was attended by 13,931 participants. Meanwhile, for PembaTIK level 4-Sharing and Collaborating, there are 1,066 participants passed the first selection. Further, the committee will filter them to obtain 1 best participant from each province in Indonesia to become the Technology Ambassador 2023.
“PembaTIK’s Sharing and Collaborating Level provides participants with the opportunity to share experiences, knowledge, and best practices in utilizing ICT for education. They are encouraged to learn from each other’s expertise and foster innovation in technology-based teaching and learning methods,” said Hasan.
PembaTIK participants who have passed Level 4 have the opportunity to take part in sessions with speakers who are involved in the ICT sector, such as Lenang Manggala who won the Innovation Heroes award and Uwes Anis Chaeruman. (Translated by Sinta)
