The Entrepreneur Hub program will be held for three months, starting from the kick-off on April 4-6, 2023 with a training and mentoring agenda.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs initiated the Entrepreneur Hub program in an effort to scale up the entrepreneurial ratio to 3.95% in 2024. This effort is expected to produce entrepreneurs who are reliable, innovative, and competitive in global competition.
Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs, Teten Masduki, delivered that Indonesia needs to prepare reliable entrepreneurs, although the number of MSMEs is quite large reaching 64 million, most of them are still on a micro or subsistence economy scale.
“What needs to be prepared is the desire to become an entrepreneur. In developed countries, the entrepreneurial ratio reaches 10-12%. Indonesia must be able to give birth to highly educated young people who enter the business world and encourage young people or educated people to do business. Thus, our entrepreneurs can compete on the world stage,” said Teten in the Jakarta Entrepreneur Hub activity (04/05).
Further, the Ministry targets 1 million new entrepreneurs to be born in 2024 as part of the process towards developing countries. However, there are a number of things that need attention and hard work to make Indonesia a developed country.
Only 7% of MSMEs enter the industrial supply chain
Teten said, “To date, we have also encouraged the development of the entrepreneur ecosystem. For example, an ecosystem that is connected to digital makes MSME players easily access financing. MSMEs are also connected to the industrial supply chain, becoming suppliers of raw material components, as well as finished goods. Thus, MSMEs are not marginalized, they remain part of the industrial supply chain, part of industrialization.”
Currently, only about 7% of MSMEs enter the industrial supply chain. For this reason, it is necessary to encourage the ecosystem by forming clusters of people’s business loans (KUR). Those who are connected with the digital ecosystem to the supply chain will make it easier for banks to provide loans.
This activity of the Entrepreneur Hub will be held for three months, starting from the kick-off on April 4-6, 2023. The kick-off agenda contains training and mentoring of participants who will be provided with the material in 11 ongoing modules. These modules will be studied in five main sessions in stages. This event received full support from BTPN, PVG, and Rumah Zakat Indonesia.
“We hope that this Entrepreneur Hub can continue to be implemented, innovative and sustainable, as well as boosting the number and role of stakeholders in developing entrepreneurship, which will ultimately scale up the ratio of entrepreneurship in Indonesia,” concluded Teten.
