Heaptalk, Jakarta — Indonesia’s Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) has prepared high-quality and adequate digital infrastructure to support the organizing of ASEAN 2023 in Labuan Bajo, Nusa Tenggara Timur.
Acting Director General of Administration of Post and Information Technology (PPI) Ismail conveyed, “For the organizing of Chair of ASEAN 2023 that will be held on May 2023 in Labuan Bajo Nusa Tenggara Timur, Kominfo has ensured the capability of IT infrastructure in the area.”
Ismail also added that the area has equipped with fiber optic (FO) networks of 3,773.73 km and optical distribution points (ODPs) deployed at 2,055 locations. Moreover, 1,635 4G BTS and 3 5G BTS have been provided in the region.
In terms of network service quality, Ismail stated that Labuan Baju as the venue for G20 last year also provides 4G and 5G. He added, “78.12% area in Labuan Bajo has been covered with 4G. Even the 4G coverage in residential areas is around 94.51%, and several points there also have provided 5G.”
Kominfo also has monitored the network quality. Even the ICT providers have carried out anticipation to upgrade the network by procuring Base Transceiver Station (BTS) Combat.
