Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Kaimana Regency Government held a Development Planning Meeting (Musrembang) on Thursday (June 20, 2024) at the Krooy Meeting Hall to set up the Regional Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPD) for 2025-2045.
In his remarks, Kaimana Deputy Regent Hasbulla Furuada, who represented Regent Freddy Thei, said the RPJPD document disclosed Kaimana’s development over the next 20 years, emphasizing the importance of its content.
According to him, evaluations of the 2005-2025 RPJPD reveal numerous areas requiring improvement, specifically in enhancing the quality of human resources in education and the economy and addressing regional development disparities between districts.
“Our economic development has not yet been optimal, with a high unemployment rate and the poverty rate still at 15.29%,” he affirmed.
He also pointed out that spatial planning and utilization still need to be optimal, including waste management and government apparatus and governance capacity. These issues must be discussed collectively and included in the 2025-2045 RPJPD to be resolved over the next 20 years.
Through this Development Planning Meeting, he expects to demonstrate ideas and strategic contributions from overall stakeholders.
“We also need to consider perspectives from the government, community, academia, vertical agencies, professionals, and religious groups to enhance the document. This meeting will assist the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda Litbang) in refining the draft RPJPD for Kaimana Regency for 2025-2045,” he concluded.
