Heaptalk, Jakarta — President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo emphasizes that an integration of the government digital services is a necessity in order to improve public services.
On Tuesday (09/01), Jokowi made a statement during the Plenary Cabinet Session (SKP) at the State Palace, Central Jakarta. “This is a reminder that we still have 9 months left, let’s use this momentum to a bureaucratic reformation that is related to digitalization, because this digital transformation is essential and an integrated government digital services needs to be done.”
Jokowi instructed his staff to simplify digital service as well as prevent wasteful spending on digital infrastructure.
“Thousands of platforms existing in the Ministries and institutions must be simplified and there should be no more new application platforms emerging that are only oriented to projects, because it slows us down to simplify them and to be more helpful as the main important thing is government digital services,” he stressed.
Moreover, Jokowi asked the Minister for Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) to accelerate the implementation of the Electronic Based Government System (SPBE).
“I’m asking the Minister of PANRB to accelerate the SPBE implementation, a digital-based government system, consolidating all portals under one national portal and strengthening our digital security simultaneously,” Jokowi said.
Furthermore, Jokowi also asked related staff to support the transformation acceleration and a digital-based government system.
“I’m asking the BUMN Minister to also participate in supporting the transformation accelerated through Perum Peruri that becomes our national gov-tech; Home Affairs Minister and Kominfo Minister also essential to accelerate the development and the implementation of digital ID as it must be completed no later than 6 months; also for Kominfo to speed up the government cloud policy transformation for the improvement of our digital services; and everything will be coordinated by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries,” he concluded.
