Heaptalk, Jakarta — President Jokowi inaugurated the National Nutrition Agency and appointed Dadan Hindayana its head. In addition to the National Nutrition Agency, he appointed Hasan Nasbi as the Head of the Presidential Communications Office and Taruna Ikrar as the National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM).
“There are three agency heads that I appointed today,” President Jokowi explained after the inauguration on Monday (08/19). Here is a brief profile of the three agency heads.

Hasan Nasbi as Head of the Presidential Communications Office
Hasan Nasbi is the founder of Cyrus Network and a political consultant. He supported Jokowi in the 2014 and 2019 Presidential Elections and expressed his support for Prabowo Subianto in 2024.
Long before becoming a political consultant, this Bukittinggi-born man worked as a journalist from 2005 to 2006 after graduating from the Political Science Department at the University of Indonesia. In his new role, Hasan Nasbi will support communication and information policies related to the President’s strategic policies and priority programs.

Dadan Hindayana as Head of the National Nutrition Agency
Before becoming an official, Dadan was an academic and professor at Bogor Agricultural University (IPB). During his academic career, this IPB graduate in 1990 specialized in entomology, which studies insects, plant protection, food, and agriculture. He studied all these fields extensively up to the PhD level.
Dadan’s role as the Head of the National Nutrition Agency will involve overseeing implementing the free nutritious meal program as a priority initiative when Prabowo Subianto is definitively inaugurated as president. Furthermore, he will also be responsible for managing the nutrition of the Indonesian population to produce high-quality human resources for national development.

Taruna Ikrar as Head of the National Agency of Drug and Food Control
Before becoming an official, Taruna Ikrar was known as a doctor and expert in pharmacy, cardiology, and neurology. He earned his medical degree from Hasanuddin University in Makassar and continued his master’s education in Pharmacology at the University of Indonesia.
In addition, Taruna received a scholarship from the Japanese government to pursue a specialization in cardiology at Niigata University, Japan, and a post-doctoral program in neuroscience at the School of Medicine, University of California, United States.
