Heaptalk, Jakarta — President Joko Widodo, accompanied by First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo, officially inaugurated Mayapada Hospital Nusantara. This international-standard hospital is expected to become one of the vital healthcare facilities in the new capital city, Nusantara Capital (IKN).
In his remarks, President Jokowi emphasized the importance of healthcare and educational infrastructure as critical attractions for investors and the public moving to Nusantara Capital. “Whenever domestic or international investors want to come to IKN, they always ask two things: Are there schools? And, if someone gets sick, are there good-quality hospitals?” Jokowi said during the inauguration on Friday (10/11).
Three major investors from Australia, China, and Russia recently signed investment commitments in Nusantara Capital and raised similar questions. One of their main concerns was the availability of healthcare services. Jokowi responded, “Now I can answer, yes, we have Mayapada Hospital, Mayapada Hospital Nusantara, which I assure it has excellent service quality and meets international standards since it has partnered with Apollo Hospital from India.”
With the inauguration of this hospital, potential investors, as well as the public and civil servants moving to Nusantara Capital, can feel more confident about the availability of high-quality healthcare services in the new capital. Jokowi also noted that educational facilities are in the process of being completed: “Schools are still under development, but they will be finished soon.”
On this occasion, Jokowi expressed his deep appreciation to the Mayapada Group for their contribution to boosting public and investor confidence in Nusantara Capital. The healthcare facility is expected to serve the local population and symbolize Nusantara’s readiness to provide world-class public services. “I greatly appreciate what Mayapada Group has done to contribute to the confidence of civil servants, the public, and investors who wish to relocate or invest in Nusantara Capital,” he concluded.
