Heaptalk, Jakarta — East Kutai’s Vice Regent, Kasmidi Bulang, commenced the Kick Volleyball Tournament, which is held on November 5th – 7th, 2023, at Kudungga Building, North Sangatta.
Implementing the sports event organized by the Indonesian Sepak Takraw Association (PSTI) East Kutai 2023, Kasmidi affirmed this sports event is expected to create outstanding athletes and enhance the resource capability in the sports department.
He added, “Every competition will demonstrate the most outstanding athletes. This sports agenda provides an opportunity to continue to improve. For this reason, I look forward to the athletes can continue to train to elevate their ability in this sport,”
Furthermore, he also appreciated the fantastic development of this rising generation in Kick Volleyball. He also appreciated young talents in the kick volleyball sport in East Kutai. The results of this competition will identify and motivate other talented people in the district.
In his further statement, Kasmidi also revealed the allocation of funds for sports in the East Kutai. He claimed the district government had tackled Rp60 billion in funds specifically for the sports industry in the region. In the coming year, the Vice Regent of East Kutai admitted the area will obtain other source funds, including Diaspora and KONI. By holding this agenda, Kasmidi hopes that this competition will become an annual event that involves various sports in East Kutai.
On the other hand, the Chairman of PSTI at East Kutai, Jepi Darsono, revealed this tournament is one of a series of sporting activities organized by PSTI East Kutai this year. As a part of the region’s effort to develop sports quality, he also voiced that his party has performed a coaching clinic by involving Indonesia’s gold medalist in the Asian Games 2018, Novrizal.
“We have conducted several sports activities in 2023, including training for referees and coaches. Currently, East Kutai contains around 32 referees and 42 coaches who have been certified. These steps have shown our sincerity in advancing the sports industry in East Kutai, including the Kick Volleyball sport.” concluded Jepi.
