Heaptalk, Jakarta — Home Affairs Minister Muhammad Tito Karnavian commended his ministry’s performance in executing key programs, including inflation control and support for the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections, the swearing-in of elected regional leaders, and regional head retreats.
The appreciation was conveyed during Wednesday’s post-Eid gathering event at the Home Affairs Ministry’s headquarters in Jakarta. Tito specifically acknowledged staff who worked during the Eid holiday, stating: “I extend my deepest gratitude to all colleagues for your dedication in carrying out your duties.”
The minister lauded the ministry’s role in maintaining regional inflation control, noting Indonesia’s achievement as one of the countries with the lowest inflation rates globally. He pledged the ministry’s continued commitment to stabilizing prices. Tito urged officials to prioritize regular and critical initiatives, including re-voting processes and introducing supplementary regional leaders.
He emphasized collaboration with the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu), the General Elections Commission (KPU), security agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure these processes run safely and successfully.
The Directorate General of Regional Financial Development (Ditjen Keuda) was instructed to monitor and accelerate the realization of regional income and expenditure budgets. “If necessary, conduct field visits to optimize spending,” Tito added.
On the other hand, the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration (Ditjen Dukcapil) was directed to strengthen IT infrastructure for e-government services tied to National ID numbers. “We’ve fought for this IT budget—ensure it’s utilized maximally and not misused,” he concluded.
