Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Regent of Mahakam Ulu (Mahulu), Bonafasius Belawan Geh, recently conducted the Coordination Meeting to facilitate the Strengthening of Minimum Service Standards (SPM) for Mahulu Regency 2024 and the Socialization of the SPM Book at the Mercure Hotel Ballroom in Samarinda.
In his speech, Regent Bonifasius emphasized the importance of implementing SPM as the cornerstone for realizing quality public services. SPM is a standard that local governments must meet in providing essential services to the community.
“For this reason, strengthening SPM reporting is crucial to ensure that every service provided meets the established standards,” stated Regent of Mahakam Ulu.
However, the Regent also acknowledged the complex challenges faced in implementing SPM, from limited human and financial resources to technical constraints in the field.
“Thus, it is hoped that this Coordination Meeting can serve as a forum for all participating parties to discuss, share experiences, and seek joint solutions to overcome various obstacles,” said the Regent.
During the meeting, the Regent also emphasized to the entire relevant Regional Apparatuses the significance of continuously improving their commitment and performance in meeting SPM targets.
“Regular monitoring and evaluation must be done using clear and measurable performance indicators. Systematic evaluation will enable early detection of deviations or non-conformities, allowing corrective actions to be promptly taken,” concluded the Regent.
