Curated products of MSMEs in East Kutai include those with market potential, not limited to certain types as long as they meet qualification standards.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — Global Entrepreneur Profesional (Genpro) in collaboration with the East Kutai Regency Government through the Department of Cooperatives and SMEs held a business incubation and product curation for 30 MSME players in the regency. The activity took place at the Lumbu Hotel, Sangatta (05/09).
The curation of MSME products is carried out by assessing three modules with nominated products to take part in the next level of curation. Curated products include the MSME brands that have the potential to be marketed, not limited to certain types of products as long as they meet qualification standards.
In his opening remarks, East Kutai Economic and Development Assistant, Zubair, said, “There are 30 MSME actors curated from six districts. This activity will be carried out in stages and will be evaluated by the Cooperatives Department on how the development of MSMEs in East Kutai.”
Through this activity, Zubair expected that MSME actors could thrive and compete in the business competition. Thus, they can become more economically independent.
Meanwhile, the Head of the East Kutai Cooperatives and SMEs Department, Darsafani, said, “We carry out curation and incubation to select those who will take part in the export market or exhibitions in three places, namely Bali, Yogyakarta, and Jakarta. Therefore, we are conducting training as well as curating their products in the future.”
Further, Genpro will hold three training sessions for MSMEs in East Kutai. The results of the training will later be brought to export markets and expos in Bali, Yogyakarta, and Jakarta.
“We do not specify it, can be any product. We can market all products. We will push products that attract investors in the future. Examples include processed amplang (savoury fish crackers). This processed product can be developed into several versions of flavors and shapes to attract interest,” Darsafani concluded.
