Heaptalk, Jakarta – Vice Regent of East Kutai Government Kasmidi Bulang visited Indonesia’s Agricultural Extension Association (Perhiptani) Office to discuss several programs to improve Indonesia’s agricultural sector.

“We are here to discuss several plans which will be implemented soon regarding the strategy to support our agricultural sector through an agricultural extension program,” stated Vice Regent Kasmidi during his visit at Perhiptani’s office, the Minsitry of Agriculture (08/31).

In more detail, Kasmidi, who also sits as Perhiptani’s treasurer, explained that the counseling program will assist farmers in obtaining in-depth knowledge about farming and information about how to get good quality fertilizer at affordable prices.

“We will share our knowledge with them through our program, and we also will provide them access thus they know how to find high-quality fertilizer quickly at affordable prices. As we know, access to fertilizer remains an issue for our farmers,” stated Kasmidi.

During the visit, Kasmidi and Perhiptani executive chairman Fathan Rasyid also discussed the plan for the inauguration of the Chairman of Perhiptani, Isran Noor, who also served as the Governor of East Kalimantan.

“In this visit, we discussed multiple groundbreaking which should be implemented in the near future. Based on our plan, we also prepare for the inauguration of Perhiptani’s Chairman. Furthermore, in the administration scope, I also opened a new account for the new Perhiptani’s organizational structure,” Kasmidi said in a statement.

As additional information, Perhiptani is a professional extension organization that focuses on promoting Indonesia’s agricultural sector. Founded in 1987, Perhiptani has over 71,000 members across Indonesia, consisting of 36,000 state civil apparatus (ASN), 28,000 non-ASN, and Regional Contract Workers (TK2D).

Perhiptani executive chairman Fathan Rasyid delivered, “Perhiptani aims to support national food security. Our vision is to make Indonesia an exporter of agricultural products. Embodying this goal, we provide excellent services to farmers by encouraging the development of agricultural facilities and infrastructure, increasing technology adoption, and assisting them to penetrate the market through cooperatives.”
