Heaptalk, Jakarta — During a meeting at the DPR Senayan Complex, Jakarta, on Tuesday (02/04), Deputy Chairman of the House Sufmi Dasco Ahmad confirmed that President Prabowo Subianto directed that retailers be allowed to sell 3kg liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
“Starting Tuesday (02/04), the President has instructed the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources to reactivate the existing retailers to sell as usual,” Dasco said.
He added, “These retailers will be integrated as sub-distributors, ensuring that prices are regulated and affordable for the public.”
Dasco mentioned that the President made this decision after assessing the situation in the field. Since the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources enforced the rule on February 1, 2025, restricting 3kg LPG purchases to official Pertamina stations, the public has faced difficulty obtaining gas cylinders.
“The President allowed retailers to operate while integrating them into sub-distributors. Administrative procedures will proceed accordingly,” Dasco stated.
Furthermore, Dasco assured us there was no stock shortage of 3kg liquefied petroleum gas, saying, “The stock is available and confirmed to be sufficient.” Starting from February 1, 2025, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources restricted the purchase of 3kg LPG to official Pertamina stations only, leading to long queues and difficulties for the public in obtaining gas cylinders.
