Heaptalk, Jakarta — Opening the commemoration of National Consumer Day at the Ministry of Trade in Jakarta on Wednesday (04/24), Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan asked entrepreneurs not to cheat in running their businesses.

“Don’t cheat since your business won’t advance. If your product is better, has higher quality, and has higher consumer satisfaction, your business will progress,” explained Zulkifli.

From his experience as a businessman, Zulkifli Hasan underscored the importance of quality products and services in Indonesia’s export success. He reiterated his call for fair business practices, “I understand the theory and practice. I urge you all, once again, not to cheat.”

On this occasion, the Minister of Trade also revealed that his party had finished revising the Minister of Trade Regulation (Permendag) No. 36 of 2023 on Import Policies and Regulations. He targets the revision of these regulations to be completed this week. “It has been harmonized. I think it will be finished this week,” said Zulkifli.

Furthermore, Zulhas explained that this regulation revises the total limit on the amount of goods sent by Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI), namely US$1,500. “As for what types of goods are prohibited, this will later be regulated in the Minister of Finance Regulation, not in the Minister of Trade Regulation,” he concluded.
