Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Ministry of National Development Planning (PPN)/National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) is currently preparing the 2025 Government Work Plan (RKP) which was started on March 7, 2024. The 2025 Work Plan is projected to be the basis for accelerating sustainable economic growth.

“The first medium-term development stage in achieving the targets of Golden Indonesia 2045 vision is focused on strengthening the foundations of transformation,” said Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas Suharso Monoarfa during a press conference at the Bappenas Building, Central Jakarta (03/12).

According to him, the 2025 Work Plan is proposed as a response to global changes while fulfilling the mandate of Law No. 25 of 2004 on the National Development Planning System and Government Regulation No. 17 of 2017 on Synchronization of National Development Planning and Budgeting. This document is focused on strengthening the foundations of transformation.

Suharso explained, “The 2025 RKP will be a planning document for the transition period between the 2005-2025 National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN) and the 2025-2045 RPJPN, as well as an initial elaboration of the 2025-2045 RPJPN Bill and the 2025-2029 Technocratic National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) as the First Stage of 5 Year Development. This is aligned with the Vision of Golden Indonesia 2045 as a Sovereign, Advanced, and Sustainable Archipelagic Nation, which requires a strong foundation for transformation to make it happen.”

Becoming a priority development policy direction

The 2025 Work Plan is prepared with the aim of becoming a reference in planning, budgeting, and implementing development, both by the central and regional governments. By taking into account the mandate of relevant laws and government regulations, this document is the basis for transformation to bring Indonesia towards a higher level of growth.

For the central government, this document is used as a reference for preparing Ministry/Agency Work Plans, which will then be outlined in the State Budget Bill. For Regional Governments, the 2025 RKP is used as a reference for preparing the Regional Government Work Plan (RKPD). The development directions contained in the RKP can be a reference for business entities (SOEs/Private) and non-state actors to participate and collaborate in supporting the achievement of national development.

Meanwhile, the 2025 RKP theme of Acceleration of Inclusive and Sustainable Economic Growth is carried out through priority development policy directions which include quality human resources, quality infrastructure, as well as an inclusive and sustainable economy. This policy is expected to create quality jobs, reduce inequality, and create environmentally friendly products.

“The kick-off for the preparation of the 2025 RKP is expected to serve as a reminder for us that the preparation of development priorities for 2025 can focus on achieving the RKP development themes and targets,” concluded Secretary of the Ministry of National Development Planning/Main Secretary of Bappenas Teni Widuriyanti.
